The fact is that only 47% of American people feel that they can trust their bank enough to work with them when it comes to their own business. Confidence ratings felt by people when it comes to their bank dropped drastically between the years of 1980 and 2014. In 1980 60% of people trusted their bank, and by 2014 that percentage dropped to only 21%.
